London's Outstanding Non-Professional Orchestra

Along with guest director and clarinetist Peter Sparks, the ensemble performs wind serenades by Mozart and Dvořák.

The Academy of St Mary-le-Bow is a flexible chamber orchestra based in central London. The ensemble is made up of outstanding non-professional musicians from all walks of life, all of whom are young professionals working in London.


Since its formation in 2016 the orchestra has gone from strength to strength, performing over 6 major concerts per season in venues across London, working with a vast range of distinguished guest conductors, leaders, and soloists. 

The Academy of St Mary-le-Bow is run by a committee of players.


Joining the Academy of St Mary-le-Bow Friends Scheme costs just £45 a year. All funds go towards the running of the orchestra which allows us to put on an exciting and

varied programme of events. In return, Friends receive a number of benefits.
